Christopher Matthew Hunter, 51, Kokomo, passed away at 3:15 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo. He was born on January 2, 1974, in Kokomo to Steve and Donna (Hamblin) Hunter.
Hunter was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 20 and was most recently employed by Kirk & Blum Manufacturing Company. Before joining the union, he worked for various private contractors.
Hunter enjoyed the simple things in life, from fishing and golf to spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed collecting action figures, attending music concerts, and watching firework shows, as well as having a beer or Patron with friends. Hunter was a loving and kind soul whose final gift to others will live on through his choice to be an organ donor.
He is survived by his uncles, Paul (Carla) Hamblin and Joey (Cathy) Hamblin; aunts, Patricia Maxwell and Terri Hamblin; cousins, John (Aimee) Maxwell, Ann (Shane) Nesius, Jimmy (Becca) Maxwell, Jeff (Mikki) Maxwell, Justin Hamblin, Craig Hamblin, Chad Hamblin, and Kristen Hamblin; stepsister, Kimberly (Don) Peters; stepbrother, Scott (Michelle) Lobeck; as well as many other cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Steve (Pam) Hunter; and mother, Donna Hunter; uncle, Billy Hamblin.
A celebration of Hunter’s life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 2pm to 4pm, with a blessing at 4pm, at 11655 W. 100 N, Kokomo, IN. 46901.
