Charles D. "Tiny" Nelson

Charles D. “Tiny” Nelson, 78, of Sharpsville, passed away at 5:52 a.m. on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at his home. He was born February 5, 1945, in Springfield, Ohio, to Charles Edward and Thelma Marie (Hale) Nelson.

Tiny retired from the quality control department at Chrysler and was a member of UAW Local 685. He loved sports, especially Ohio State and golfing, and enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family. He was a member of Beulah Land Church.

Survivors include his daughters, Lisa Fording and Lori Nelson; grandchildren, Ashley Nelson, Heather Shively, Amanda (Chris) Mason, Cody Boruff, Brooke (Julio) Azpeitia, and Shaina (Andrew) Brock; several great-grandchildren; niece, Brandelyn (Brock) Nelson Hillman; and nephew, Tyler Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Patrick Nelson.

Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Pastor Lori Melton officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in Tiny’s memory to the American Diabetes Association.
