Charles Doyle Obituary

 

Charles R. Doyle, 82, Kokomo, passed away on September 18, 2022, at his home. The son of the late Noah and Delpehine (Seabolt) Doyle, he was born on September 5, 1940, in Indianapolis.  On August 30, 1964, he married Dixie Wheeler, and she preceded him in death on February 7, 2022. 

Charles was a 1959 graduate of Warren Central High School.  He worked for RCA Corp. and retired from the Chrysler Corporation after many years of service. He was a member of the Englewood Masonic Lodge # 715 since 1970 and earned the 50-year Award of Gold. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite and the Murat Shrine Club. Charles was an avid drag racer, owning a ’63 Plymouth factory drag car. He raced at the Indianapolis Raceway Park and the Muncie Dragway. He was a fan of all types of automobile racing.  He loved to read racing journals and watch racing on T.V.

Charles is survived by his brother James Doyle, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Dixie.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Monday September 26, 2022, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main Street, Russiaville, IN. 46979. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 12 pm to 1 pm, Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
