Carolyn S. Huffer, 75, Frankfort, passed away at 2:45 am Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Aperion Care in Kokomo. She was born July 24, 1942, near Greencastle, Putnam County, IN, the daughter of the late Floyd Leonard Sr. & Mary H. (Allee) White. On June 3, 1961, she married Robert Leon Huffer in Greentown, who preceded her in death June 6, 1989.
Carolyn was a 1960 graduate of Eastern High School. She worked for the Kokomo Tribune from 1960-1964, baby sat for several different families, and in the early 1980’s worked for the Forest Soda Shop. Carolyn lived in Forest for 39 years where she was a member of Forest Baptist Church and had attended Forest United Methodist Church. She had also served as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader in the 1970’s.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Brian L. Huffer, Frankfort, and Robin S. D’Agostino, Frankfort; daughter-in-law, Karie (Josh) Name; grandchildren, Kristen (James) Nelson, Spencer (Kendra) Huffer, Creig Smith, Cola (Mat) Kahn, Matthew D’Agostino, Hope (Randy) Murphy, and Gwendolyn D’Agostino; great-grandchildren, Rogue R. Huffer, and Alexis R. Murphy; siblings, Floyd (Marsha) White, and Marilyn (Leonard) Shirley, along with several nieces and nephews.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Robert Wayne Huffer; son-in-law, Jarvis D’Agostino; and brothers, James, Robert, Ronald, Charles, and Samuel.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Monday, July 9, 2018, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street, Russiaville, with Ken Rushing officiating. Burial will follow in Veneman Cemetery in Forest. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2-4 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
