Brittany Lynn Gifford

Brittany Lynn (Thomas) Gifford, 41 years old, of Kokomo, passed away Tuesday January 27, 2026. She was born in Franklin, IN, on May 4, 1984, the daughter of Clay Lee Thomas and Christina (Chelf) Phalen. On August 16, 2025, she married James “Jimmy” Gifford Jr., and he survives.

Brittany was a 2002 graduate of Taylor High School. She was currently enrolled online for a coding and billing degree. She formerly worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Brittany was the most kind and polite woman. She was the hardest worker you would meet. She was an animal lover of all kinds, but especially her pet dogs. She is a mother to her three dear children. Brittany loved Jesus and was saved and baptized. She enjoyed singing and was described as having an angelic voice. She enjoyed listening to soul, R & B, and rap music.

In addition to her husband Jimmy, Brittany is survived by her children, Alexys Chiamopoulos, Isabella Lee, Nasir Reese; mother, Christina (John) Phalen; siblings, Brandon (Ashley Collins) Thomas, Johnny Phalen, Nik (Hannah Lafollette) Phalen; grandparents, Dennis and Darlene Phalen; special aunt, Darlene Farmer; special uncle, Brian Chelf; a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and plenty of dear friends who will miss her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clay Thomas; maternal grandparents, and paternal grandparents.

Brittany’s family requests that you wear her favorite color red to her services in her honor.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1 to 3 pm Thursday February 5, 2026, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, IN 46902. A memorial service celebrating her life will begin 3 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in Brittany’s memory to Shirley & Stout Funeral Home to help with expenses.
