Brian Wayne “Elmo” Griggs, 44, Kokomo, after a brief illness, took his last earthly breath at 2:43 A.M. on Saturday, May 7, 2022. At his residence with his family by his side. Brian was Tipton's first New years baby of 1978 born January 4, to Steven and Lucinda (Nuding) Griggs. Brian was also a 1997 graduate of Kokomo High School.
To know Brian was to absolutely love and adore him. He will be sorely missed by anyone that knew him. He was always the jokester and comedian of the group, whenever he was around people that he loved and cared about.
He never let his many restrictions in life get in his way. He held several jobs over the years, the most recent one being at the Kokomo Meijer store. When he wasn't working he loved spending time and hanging out with his family and his many friends that were more like family to him. He loved to go fishing, play pool and play Texas Hold’ em on game nights. Although he never was too fond of the game, he loved going to play bingo with his mother, just so he could spend that quality mother and son time together. He was also a member, and avid pool player for the North Central Indiana APA Pool League, where Brian felt most comfortable, making many lifelong friendships.
Brian is survived by his mother, Lucinda; two sisters, Stacey Griggs and Denise Griggs; nephew, Jordan Griggs, (Karina); niece, Emily Griggs, (Fabian); aunts, Peggy Sollars, Shirly Elkins (Kirby), Lisa Wilson; along with a host of cousins.
Brian, was preceded in death by his father, Steven W. Griggs, and two great nephews he unfortunately never got to meet, Baby Bryceton W. Griggs & Baby Lorenzo A. Mendoza
