Brandon Julian Smith, 37, Kokomo, passed away on June 8, 2022, at his home. He was born November 28, 1984, in Kokomo, the son of Eric Julian Smith and Kathleen Ann Englert. On June 19, 2015, in Kokomo, he married Korena Nicole Newlin and she survives.
Brandon was a 2004 graduate of Kokomo High School. He went on to receive his BA from Purdue University in Mechanical Engineering. Brandon was currently employed with General Motors as a Mechanical Engineer. He previously worked for Mikes Car Wash, Chrysler and NHK.
Brandon enjoyed shopping, collecting baseball cards and NBA Jerseys. He also loved movies, especially anything with Will Ferrell in it. He cherished time spent with his daughters, who were his world and watching Disney movies such as Cars and Moana. Brandon loved playing jokes on and hanging out with friends and family. He never took anything serious and was a true kid at heart inside an adult’s body.
Brandon is survived by his wife, Korena; parents, Eric Julian Smith and Kathleen Ann (Thomas) Englert; daughters, Aayla, Skylar and Hailey; siblings, Nicholas (Adam) Smith-McCombs, Sarah (Brian) Spangler, Amanda Blankenberger and Matt Englert; aunts, Jane Shepski and Janet (Jeff) Grantham; niece and nephews, Madison Spangler and Drake and Parker Smith-McCombs, along with several cousins; in-laws, Diane (Michael) Little and Bruce (Sandy) Ziegler.
Brandon was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and uncles, Rob and Dave Sokolowski and Ed Shepski.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, Rev. Fr. Christopher Shocklee officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
