Bradley J. “Brad” Smith 52, Kokomo, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 25, 2021, at his home. He was born January 15, 1969, in Kokomo, the son of Tom Smith & Judy Crull.
Brad loved his family and friends dearly. He loved anything to do with sports and always enjoyed going to the ballparks to watch the kids play ball. Brad played softball, flag football, volleyball and 3 on 3 basketball for Special Olympics. He was a diehard Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Cubs and wrestling fan. He worked for Marsh for almost 30 years. He had just started working for Kokomo schools and really enjoyed his job.
Brad is survived by his father, Tom Smith; mother, Judy (Bob) Crull; siblings, Brian (Jennifer) Smith, Bobby (Laura) Crull and Mindy (J.P.) Miller; step-siblings, Ronnie (Christy) Nearon and Lisa Rodgers; uncles, Larry Darlin, Tom (Linda) Darlin, Tom (Cindy) Crull and Frank (Barb) Crull, along with numerous nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews; Brad’s two very special friends, Kent McFadden and Danny Atkins; and his 3 dogs, Walker, Molly and Junior.
Brad was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; his step-mother, Sharon Smith; several aunts and uncles; and cousin, Lorne Darlin.
A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, January 15, 2022, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 332 Center Road, Kokomo, with Bishop Dennis Marler officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2-4 pm Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in Brad’s memory to Bona Vista or the Special Olympics.
