Bonny Lynn (Schaefer) Bitzell

Bonny Lynn Bitzell, 71, of Kokomo, passed away at 7:07 pm on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent in Kokomo. On March 15, 1954, she was born in Bowling Field Air Force Base, Washington D.C., daughter of the late Clyde and Mary (Turner) Schaefer.

Bonny was a 1972 graduate of Eastern High School. She worked in assembly at Chrysler for 30 years, retiring in 2003. She enjoyed making jewelry, crafting, and watching cooking shows. Bonny loved taking trips to Brown County and going on outings with friends from high school.

She is survived by her children, Melissa (Joe Morgan) Tomlinson and Matthew (Kellie Stafford) Bitzell; grandchildren, Maci Bitzell, Zoe Morgan, Zander Morgan, and Stevie Rae Bitzell; sister, Debi Tygart; nieces and nephews, Erin (Cody) Rayls and Megan Lawless; great nieces and nephews, Warren Rayls, Brylee Rayls, Emma Henson, and Lyncoln Henson; and brother-in-law, Jeff Lawless.

Bonny was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Michelle Frey; father of her children, Allen Bitzell; sister, Linda Lawless; and brother-in-law, Bodie Tygart.

A memorial service will be held at 6 pm on Friday, October 10, 2025 at Hasler & Stout Funeral Homes, 112 E. Main Street, Greentown with Pastor Tom Schaefer officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 pm until the time of the service on Friday, October 10, 2025 at the funeral home.
