Bonnie Louise Stone, 79, Kokomo, passed away at Golden Living Center, on Wednesday May 11, 2022. She was born on January 1, 1943, in Smithville, AR., to McCoy and Charlene (Jones) Maxwell. On May 12, 1961, she married Ralph E. Stone.
Bonnie was a graduate of Kokomo High School. She worked as a secretary for Western School Corporation before working for General Motors, she had been retired from GM for several years. Bonnie was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She served as a pianist and organist, which she absolutely loved doing.
Bonnie is survived by her children, Greg Stone and Gina Thomas; siblings, Paula Alter and Wayne Maxwell; grandchildren, Taylor Thomas, Erin Thomas, Jimmy Pearcy and Veronica Dukes; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; she was especially close to her great grandsons, Kristopher Bryan, Arie Breigenzer and Kolton Breigenzer, who spent much time in her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, McCoy and Charlene; husband, Ralph; brother, Johnny Maxwell; infant sister, Kathy Maxwell; and stepdaughter, Deanna Evans.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday May 18, 2022, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Chris Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11 am to 1 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
