Becky Oyler Obituary

Becky S. Oyler, 65, Kokomo, died at 10:44 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at her residence. She was born Sept. 9, 1946, in Peru, the daughter of Donald R. and Judy C. (Pyke) Winger. On April 20, 1968, she married Carl D. Oyler, and he survives.

She worked in household finance and most recently was self-employed in a home decorations service with longtime friends Jeanne Johnson and Cathy Cheek.

Becky had attended Howard and Jackson grade schools. She graduated from Eastern High School in 1964 and attended the University of Indianapolis.

She was an active member of Kokomo Zion United Methodist Church and was a Girls' 4-H leader for many years, and coordinator for the Circle of Love. She also taught Sunday School and really enjoyed playing in the Kokomo Zion Bell Choir.

She liked spending time with her family and friends on summer vacations.

Surviving are her husband, Carl D. Oyler, Kokomo; father and mother, Donald and Judy Winger, Kokomo; children, April L. (Chris) Pangburn, Centennial, Colo., Scott R. (Amanda) Oyler, Kokomo, and Jamie E. (Keith) Combs, Kokomo; eight grandchildren, Kate Pangburn, Tanner Pangburn, Kyle Bourff, Austin Oyler, Luke Oyler, Keiton Combs, Rafe Combs and Sydney Combs; two brothers, Steven D. (Deb) Winger, Converse, and Bradley J. (Kami) Winger, Kokomo; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Service are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kokomo Zion United Methodist Church, 5051 E. 3400 North, Kokomo. Pastor John Hogsett will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kokomo Zion United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Kokomo Zion United Methodist Church for the Circle of Love Projects. Arrangements are being handled by Hasler-Stout Funeral Home, Greentown. 

Becky was an amazing woman who inspired many people through her faith, service to others and her miraculous strength during her 16-year battle with cancer. "We love you, Becky! You are at peace and at rest in Jesus’ arms."
