Barbara Frances "Barb" Round, 89, Kokomo, passed away peacefully at 11:50 am on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. She was born on October 9, 1936, in Liverpool, England, the daughter of the late Henry & Elsie (Wright) Sharp. On July 26, 1956, in Liverpool, England, she married Ren P. Round who preceded her in death on March 31, 2000.
Throughout her life, Barb remained deeply connected to her roots while embracing new experiences with enthusiasm. After moving from England to the United States, she maintained strong ties to her heritage through friendships and community involvement. At St. Andrew Episcopal Church in Kokomo, she found camaraderie among fellow expatriates in the English ladies group known as the Tea Baggers.
Barb had a vibrant personality marked by sharp wit and an enduring sense of humor that endeared her to all who knew her. She was family-oriented at heart—always present for milestones big and small—and created lasting memories through simple joys like sharing stories over tea.
In earlier years, Barb enjoyed bowling before discovering a passion for golf later in life. She was an avid reader who could often be found with a book in hand and took great pleasure in knitting and crocheting gifts for loved ones. Her love of games extended to card clubs such as Euchre, where she formed lasting friendships over friendly competition. Travel was another joy in Barb’s life—especially her journey to New Zealand—which reflected her adventurous spirit and appreciation for the world beyond her doorstep.
Barb is survived by her daughter, Karen (Greg) Warwick; son-in-law, Charlie Barnett; her cherished grandchildren: Kari (George) Swing, Robert (Carissa) Round, Heather (Jon) Snyder, Sarah (Robbie) Wooley, Christina (Don) Turnpaugh and Brian (Susie) Warwick; great-grandchildren: Ryley, Kyle and Tyler Swing, Owen, Clay, Rhett and Ruby Snyder, Madison and Nolan Wooley, Amber Turnpaugh, Megan Augustine and Dustin Turnpaugh; Barb also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. She is fondly remembered by dear friends Judy McCoy and Dorothy Wagner, whose companionship enriched her later years.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ren P. Round; daughter, Dianna Barnett; brother, Peter Sharp; and sister, Audrey Sealeaf.
The family will plan a celebration of life at a later date in the spring. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with cremation. Memorial contributions may be made in Barb’s memory to Folds of Honor, foldsofhonor.org or Wounded Warrior Project, woundedwarriorproject.org.
