Barbara L. Jones

Barbara L. Jones, 57, Kokomo, went home to be with the Lord at 3:55 pm on Sunday November 21, 2021, at University Hospital, Indianapolis.  She was born on May 1, 1964, in Valparaiso, to the late Clifford and Rosemary (Neiman) Jones. 

Barb graduated from Kokomo High School. She received a bachelor’s in Human Social Services from the University of Phoenix. She worked as a Bartender for different restaurants and bars. She was very active with the Gilead House.  Her grandchildren called her “Granny B” and they meant the world to her. Barb loved her animals, Lilly, Smoky, and Huey. She loved her family and the Lord and had faith in God that was unmatched. 

Barb is survived by her life partner, James “Jimmy” Slaughter; sons, Jonathan Jones, and Matthew (Heidi) Dotterer; grandchildren, Warne Rowland, Covid Dotterer, and Ayden Jones; nephew, Tim Gabbard; many nieces and nephews; very special friends, Teresa Carmen, Dale (Arlene “Weezie”) Kelly, and Grace (Tony) Reed; mother-in-law and three sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, William Rowland; niece, Tina Gabbard; father-in-law, James “Jim” Slaughter; and brother-in-law, Adam Slaughter.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Monday November 29, 2021, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Mark Miller officiating.  Friends may visit with the family from 1 pm to 2 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
