Asa Clifford Harvey, age 83, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his beloved family, as he went to be with his Lord and Savior.
Born on October 13, 1942, in Edison, Ohio, Asa lived a life marked by devotion, wisdom, and quiet strength. On June 8, 1963, he married the love of his life, Carol Anne Brown, beginning a partnership that would span more than six decades and inspire all who knew them.
He was a proud father to Elizabeth (Joseph) Hlebasko, Deborah (Curtis) Copeland, and Matthew (Holly) Harvey. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Andrea (David) Rowe, Ashley Ausbrook, Aaron (Mercede) Copeland, Andrew Copeland, Lydia Hlebasko, Hanna (Chris) Hlebasko-Beaman, Jackson Harvey, George Harvey, and Walter Harvey; and great-grandchildren: Zoey, Lily, Kenzie, and Bailey Ausbrook, David and Anna Rowe, and Aaliyah Copeland.
Asa was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Catherine Harvey, and his sister, Sharon Deever.
He earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from Tri-State College, and spent the majority of his career at Chrysler, contributing his talents in Kokomo, Indiana; Warren, Michigan; and Indianapolis, Indiana.
Asa’s passions were as varied as they were meaningful. He built his forever home of over 25 years. He found joy in Indiana State Park lodges, especially Clifty Falls, where he and Carol enjoyed their favorite “2-for-1” stays. He loved doing puzzles with his wife, quilting, creating spreadsheets, solving challenges, piloting, fishing, woodworking, cooking, and baking bread. But above all, he treasured his roles as husband, dad, grandpa, friend, and pastor/advisor—offering guidance, comfort, and faith to many.
His life was a testament to love, service, and faith. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
