April Marie Mahaney Merritt

April Marie Mahaney Merritt, 49, of Kokomo, passed away at 9:52 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at her home.  She was born October 13, 1972, in Elwood, to Donald Mahaney, Sr. and Brenda (Gardener) Hight.

April graduated from Tipton High School in 1991.  She enjoyed coloring, music and making crafts for others.  She was a member of In His Image Church.

Survivors include her mother; brother, Donald Mahaney, Jr.; significant other, John Catlett; a niece and a nephew; two great-nieces and a great-nephew.

She was preceded in death by her father and uncle, Charles Gardener.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, Jefferson Street Chapel, 414 W. Jefferson St., Kokomo, with Pastor Brad Swain officiating.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from Noon until 2 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  Private burial will take place at a later date.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
