Amber Nicole Watson

Amber Nicole Watson, 29, passed away at 5:04 am Sunday September 17, 2017, in Kokomo.  She was born April 8, 1988, in Kokomo, the daughter of Stoney & Mary Christine “Chris” (Phifer) Watson. 

Amber was a 2006 graduate of Western High School.  She went on to receive her CNA certification from Ivy Tech Community College and was enrolled in Indiana University at Kokomo where she was working towards her nursing degree.  Amber was employed with Aperion Health Care in Kokomo, as a CNA.  She truly loved her daughter, her friends, and going to the beach in Florida.  Amber was a strong & independent woman, and a loving mom.  Her daughter Aleena was her everything. 

Amber is survived by her daughter, Aleena Watson; father, Stoney Watson; brother, Jeremy Childress; sister, Angela (William) Stanley; nieces and nephews, Amara Childress, Baylie Stanley, and Clayton Stanley, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Amber was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Christine Watson, and grandparents, William & Wanda Phifer, Henry Watson, and Edna Crumb.

A memorial service celebrating Amber’s life will be held at Christian Heritage Worship Center, 3007 E. Carter Street, Kokomo on September 22, 2017.    Friends may visit with the family from 5-7 pm on Friday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to benefit Amber's daughter Aleena.  Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with cremation.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
