Albert H. Ebeling, Sr., 99, of Kokomo, passed away at 2:07 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2025, at his home. He was born May 2, 1926, in Brooklyn, New York, to Ernest and Mary (Hyland) Ebeling. In 1957, he married Ruth O. Goodnight, in Tipton, and she preceded him in death on January 23, 2018.
Albert worked as a carpenter for Ted D. Anderson and retired in 1990. He enjoyed horticultural gardening, gem collecting , building homes, taking road trips, and loved his Schnauzers. Health and nutrition were also important to Albert, contributing to his longevity. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union.
Survivors include his children, Julie (Jeff) Humphreys, Cindy (Rob) Fisher, Chris Ebeling, David Ebeling, and Erik Svedin; daughter-in-law, Beth Ebeling; son-in-law, Ron Rougeau; caretaker, Monica Fowler; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Ruth Ebeling, he was preceded in death by his son, Albert Ebeling, Jr; daughter, Karin Rougeau; ex-wife, Maudie Chappell; one brother; and two sisters.
Friends are invited to visit from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery, 2097 W. Alto Rd., Kokomo, with Pastor Jason Grant officiating.
