A. Helen (Dyer) Beatty, 101, of Kokomo formally of Sharpsville, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Lebanon. She was born on September 29, 1923, in Tennessee, daughter of the late Hubert and Georgia (Ridnour) Dyer.
Helen was a 1940 graduate of Kokomo High School. She worked at GM for 17 years and helped on her family farm. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene (now One Church) for 95 years and a member of the Sharpsville Home Ec Club. She was a wonderful cook, a great oil and fine china painter and a perfect hand quilter. She also liked to play board games with her grand and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Bobette (John) Orr and Bonita (Mac) Dennison; grandchildren, Dr. Curtis (Cindy) Orr, Loreda (Troy) Knoderer, Elisha (Brian) Buchanan, Scott (Emily) Priebe, Billie Davis and Shawn Dennison; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jordan) Tyler, Mitchell (Girlfriend, Leann) Orr, Benjamin Orr, Jesse (Melissa) Ward, Shawn (Whitney) Ward, Tristan (Sage) Ward, Alexa Knoderer, Nathan Knoderer, Chase Buchanan, Alessandra Buchanan, Parker Priebe, and Shellby (Brayden) Saunders; and great-great grandchildren, Easton and Emersyn Ward.
Along with her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her sisters, Kathleen Whitzel and Lucille Hamilton; two brothers in laws; and the father of her children, Ernest Beatty.
A funeral service celebrating Helen’s life will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd, Kokomo with her grandson, Scott Priebe officiating.
