Richard L. "Dick" Duncan, 59, Russiaville, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at his home after a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 15, 1951, in Kokomo, to Joseph R. Duncan and Vonna "Bonnie" (Ridenour) Christie.
Dick was a 1970 graduate of Western High School. He had worked at Chrysler Transmission for 30 years in Dept. 9100 and retired in 2002.
He was a member of UAW 685. He had a passion for cooking and cooked for many get-togethers. He was a great mushroom hunter, as well as an avid NASCAR and IU fan. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson. He won many Texas Hold-Em and pool tournaments, but his greatest love was for his daughters and his grandchildren.
Surviving are his daughters, Angela (Angel) Salvador, Florida, and her daughter Izzy, and Amber Duncan, Tennessee, and her sons Gabe, Mike and Charlie; his mother, Bonnie Christie, Kokomo; sister, Marilyn (Tony) Miller, Kokomo; brother, John (Alicia) Duncan, Dallas, Texas; a host of nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews; his longtime companion, Dian Dowden, Burlington; and the mother of his girls, Linda (McNally) York, Tenn. He will sorely missed.
Preceding him in death was his father, Joseph R. Duncan; grandparents, Bruce and Jane Ridenour, and John and Onda Duncan.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main, Russiaville, with Ron DeGraaff officiating. Burial will be in the Russiaville Cemetery. Viewing is 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
