Mary Lou (Roe) Curry, 68, Kokomo, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018, at her home.  She was born March 20, 1950, in Tazwell, TN, the daughter of the late Vibe & Gertrude (Williams) Roe.

Mary was a 1968 graduate of Kokomo High School.  She retired from Delco Electronics after 30 years of service.  Mary was a member of UAW Local #292.  She was a sports enthusiast, and enjoyed all basketball, especially the Indiana Pacers.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and shopping. 

Mary was “mom” to anyone, and had an open door to anybody who needed a listening ear, a meal, or to just feel loved. She will truly be missed by many. 

Mary is survived by her children, Troy (Jennifer) Clark, Staci (Kevin) Pendleton, Kelly (John) Summers, and Shelly (Brian Deramus) Curry; step-children, Jonese (Ulysses) Goree, and Michelle (Carl) Durham; grandchildren, Chelin Hicks, Audriana Clark, Alexis Clark, Aliya Clark, Aniya McNair, Christopher McNair, Christian McNair, Bria Deramus, and Kaden Summers; great-grandson, Me’Khi Hicks; brother, Richard (Cindy) Roe; sister-in-law, Brenda Roe; special cousins, Shirley, Judy, and Phil & Stephanie; and special aunts, Anna Mae, Ruth, and Mary Ellen, along with several nieces and nephews.    

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dan Roe; and special aunt, Pearl.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, May 11, 2018, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Minister Lionel McNeil officiating.  Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12-2 pm Friday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to the American Cancer Society.  Messages of condolence may be left online at
