Violet A. Kile, 88, went home to Heaven at 12:58 PM Sunday, April 8th, 2018 from her residence at The Wellington at Kokomo. Born January 4th, 1930 in Waupecong, In., she was the daughter of William Glay and Blanche (Wolf) Jenkins. On September 18th, 1953 she married John Edward Kile, who preceded her in death.
Violet first worked for Delco Radio Division after graduating from Clay Township H.S. in 1947. Later in life she enjoyed many years of work at Western H.S. as a cafeteria cashier. She was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer and a previous member of New London Friends and United Brethren Church of Waupecong. She dearly loved her two grandsons who were raised only ½ mile away and was a great animal lover.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan W. Holston and husband Skip, Kokomo, and Katrina “Kitty” Davis and husband Roger, Russiaville; two grandsons, John M. Davis, Noblesville, and Peter J. Davis, Russiaville; and by her sister-in-law, Betty Jenkins, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Milton Jenkins and Meredith Jenkins.
The family is grateful for the loving care provided by the staff of The Wellington at Kokomo these last several years and, more recently, Southern Care Hospice.
Services will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 705 Southway Blvd. East, Kokomo, with Pastors William Allison and Barry Akers. Burial will follow in the New London Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the church or one hour before the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer or Kokomo Humane Society. Violet was faithful unto our Lord Jesus Christ and His saving gospel. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the Crown of Life. Online condolences may be left at

Susie and Kitty, Your mother and father were good friends of ours. Special memories of your mother... I first knew her when we were both members of our Happy Homemaker Extension Club. We both worked at Western School and in the winter as she was driving in to help with the lunch line, she would sometimes hit the slick spot by our house and come sliding in near our driveway. Your father would tell her that if she really wanted to see Lewie that bad, she could just drive in the driveway.☺ I have a beautiful Christmas pin she gave me and I still wear at Christmas that I lovingly cherish! Happy Homemakers Club has changed over the years and I'm now the old-timer in the group. As we meet for our meeting tonight (Wednesday) I will share my special memories with all... those who have known her and those who have not had that opportunity. Sorry I cannot be with you but I will be holding you in my thoughts and prayers now and in the days ahead! Love and Prayers, Mary Frances and Lewie
