Janet Ann Wiechmann, 84, Kokomo, died at 10:10 a.m. Sunday, March 11, 2018 at her home where she had been lovingly cared for by her family.  Jan was born September 18, 1933 in Cleburne, Kansas, the daughter of Ralph & Doris A. (Swanson) Netson.  On August 26, 1956 Jan married Eldred “Bud” H. Wiechmann and he survives.

In May of 1950 Jan graduated from Cleburne High School. She attended Clarks Business School.  Jan worked for 18 years as the personal assistant to the Athletic Director at Taylor High School from 1973 to 1991. 

Jan was an active member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Kokomo, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and served as a sanctuary steward.  She was also a member of the Homemakers Club. 

Jan is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bud Wiechmann; three sons, Michael (Elena) Wiechmann, Alan Wiechmann, Larry (Danna) Wiechmann; four grandchildren, Jake, Jenna, Shaun and Christopher Wiechmann and her two brothers, Gary Netson, and Jon (Michele) Netson.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph & Doris Netson; two brothers, Galvin Wayne & Robert Netson and one sister, Betty Jean Netson.

In Kokomo, Funeral services celebrating Jan’s Victory over death will be held at 5:00 pm Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 705 Southway Blvd., East, Kokomo, with Pastor William Allison officiating.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3-5 pm Wednesday at the church.

In Barnes, Kansas, friends are invited to call from 11 am to 1 pm Saturday, March 17, 2018, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 2647 3rd Rd., Barnes, KS.  A committal service will follow in St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery, with Pastor Matthew Durance officiating.
