June Loarene (Tucker) Kingery, 97, passed into the open arms of her husband and family on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at 9:53 a.m. at Golden Living in Kokomo.  We celebrate her life and the fact that she is in a better place, whole and healed and with her savior Jesus Christ.  She knew that her death was not the end but rather the beginning.  She was born to Roscoe and Ethel (Stout) Tucker on June 19, 1920, in Howard County.  She was a 1939 graduate of New London School.  On July 8, 1945, she married Meredith Kingery, and he preceded her in death on March 20, 2015.

June was a member of Parr United Methodist Church.  She was employed by Delco Electronics from 1943 to 1955.  June was a teacher of home, history, family and tradition.  One of her hobbies was making scrapbooks, which she started as a young girl and continued on in her life till the end.  She traveled all over the United States and Canada on family vacations and camping.  She was an avid Pacer fan, keeping the statistics in a book for each game that was on TV.  June was brave, strong and courageous and had faith that was rock solid strong till the end.  Those of you that knew June knew she was the best cookie baker ever.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Pat) Campbell, Kokomo; grandson, Brett (Erin) Thompson, Niles, Michigan; granddaughter, Michelle (Cody) Hewitt, Windfall; great-granddaughter, Hadley Grace; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a brother.

The family would like to thank Home Instead; special friend, Tye Scott; special angel, Lynn Roberts; Golden Living; and Great Lakes Hospice for all their love, compassion and support on this journey.

Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Pastor Joyce Harris officiating.  Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in June’s memory to Great Lakes Hospice.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.

Please except our sincere symphony for your loss. June was my mothers last friend. She is in a nursing home and couldn't attend the funeral. Prayers to the whole family.

I am very saddened to hear of June's passing, but rejoice in the knowledge that she is with sweet Meredith once again. June was so kind and could always make you laugh! My life was better having known June and her family. My deepest sympathy.
