Linda Anne Stilwell, 60, Kokomo, passed away at 5:22 am Friday, November 24, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo.  She was born September 15, 1957, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  She was the daughter of Arthur F. and Vida Anne (Randol) Peirce.  On October 12, 1985, she married Samuel R. Stilwell, who preceded her in death February 23, 2017.

Linda was a 1975 graduate of Haworth High School and a 1979 graduate of Indiana University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.   She worked for many years as a counselor in the mental health field, specializing in addiction and job counseling services.

Linda was an avid reader with an appreciation for irreverent humor and dark comedy.  She loved spending time with her family, and they enjoyed annual trips to state parks and theme parks, vacationing at Edisto Island, S.C., and visiting museums wherever they went.  Linda was a devoted dog parent, first to Honey, then Daisy, and was surprised to find herself smitten when a rescue cat, Bitty, unexpectedly came into their lives.  Linda loved music of all genres, and she and Sam, who was himself a gifted musician, took in live music performances often.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Anne Stilwell, Kokomo; father, Arthur F. Peirce, Kokomo; sister, Carol (Patrick) Rini, Columbus, OH; mother-in-law, Marilyn Stilwell, Kokomo; sisters-in-law, Sandy (Rick) Kadlec, Sherry (Jedd) Carey, and Susie (Bill) Abresch, along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, mother, Vida Anne Peirce, and brother, Howard Randol Peirce.

Funeral services will be held at Noon Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10-12 pm Saturday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Linda’s memory to the family or the American Heart Association.  Messages of condolence may be left online at
