Mary A. Camperelli, 71, Kokomo, passed away at 8:27 a.m. Sunday, September 3, 2017, at Community Howard Regional Health. She was born August 26, 1946, in Woodstock, Illinois, to Roger and Alice (Waidley) Ruppert. She married James Camperelli in 1966, and they later divorced.

Mary graduated from Northwestern High School and Ivy Tech Community College. She worked for and retired from Joann Fabric in Kokomo. She loved animals and had adopted several pets. Mary also enjoyed gardening, traveling up in Canada, singing in the choir and doing charity work for the church. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and had been a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. 

She is survived by her son, Christopher (Elizabeth) Camperelli, Anderson; grandchildren, Cash and Sophie; sister, Frances Reed, Kokomo; sister-in-law, Melinda Ruppert; nephews, Mark Ruppert and Todd Ruppert; and niece, Daphne (Brian) Andert.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gary Ruppert.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2017, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1229 N. Washington, Kokomo, with Father David Huemmer the celebrant. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Animal Protection League, 613 Dewey St., Anderson, IN 46016, Messages of condolence may be expressed online at
