Rebecca Ruth (Lhamon) Dean

Rebecca Ruth Dean, 65, Kokomo, passed away at 2:15 pm on Thursday, January 7, 2015.  She was born on July 17, 1950, in Wabash, IN, the daughter of Dailey Francis & Mildred Alice (McGary) Lhamon.  On May 9, 1969, she married John David Dean in Marion, and he survives.

Rebecca was a homemaker and a talented Church pianist and organist, having played for Calvary Baptist Church, First Church of the Nazarene, and Ellers Mortuary.   She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church.  Rebecca was an avid reader who enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends and making people laugh.  She was a generous giver to others. 

Rebecca is survived by her husband, John Dean, Kokomo; children, David Dean, Ridgecrest, CA, Jill (Jeremy) Coon, Indianapolis, and Michael (Marielena) Dean, Kokomo; grandchildren, Kaleb Dean, Jagger Dean, Cruz Dean, and Zoey Coon, along with several nieces and nephews. 

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Gary and Dale, and sister, Phyllis.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1967 West Boulevard Street, Kokomo, with Pastor Jeff Sexton officiating.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 pm until time of service.   Memorial contributions may be made in Rebecca’s memory to the Kokomo Rescue Mission.  Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory assisted the family with arrangements.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com
