Billie Gwen Armstrong, age 85, of Greentown, passed away at 5:16 am Friday November 15, 2013 at Community Howard Regional Health Systems, a few days after being admitted for a heart attack. She was born May 16, 1928 in Miami County, the daughter of Tressie and Mae (Curry) Hahn. On March 10, 1951 she became the bride of Clarence Franklin Armstrong who survives.
Billie was a 1946 graduate of Greentown High School. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt to many. She enjoyed working for many years at the drug stores in Greentown. She was an avid golfer, and loved playing with her husband as well as many family and friends. She will be missed.
She is survived by; her husband Clarence Armstrong; son, Marty (Loretta) Armstrong; daughters, Nikke (Ted) Hullinger, and Darlene (Steve) Wick; five grandchildren, Evan Chute, Joe Hullinger, Jeremy (Ada) Hullinger, Jeremy Armstrong, and Candice Armstrong. Billie is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were; her parents, Tressie and Mae (Curry) Hahn; brother, Kent Hahn; sisters Betty Gross, Jacqueline Fewell, and Mary Jane Budd; grandchild, David Chute.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Tuesday November 19th at Hasler-Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St. Greentown, with Pastor Paul Boss officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call on the family from 4:00 until 8:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Lung Association or Century Villa Health Care with envelopes available at the funeral home.
