William G. Hozey

William G. Hozey, 73, Kokomo, passed away at 3:27 pm Friday, September 7, 2018, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo.  He was born May 25, 1945, in Baltimore City, MD.  He was the son of the late James B. Sr. & Irene (Jordan) Hozey. 

William retired in 1999 from Chrysler Corp and was a member of UAW Local #685.  He served with the United States Army as a medic in Korea, earning the rank of Sgt.  William enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, horse racing, watching college football, and loved his dog, Branson.

William is survived by his children, John Hozey, and Heather (Travis) Hainlen; grandchildren, Jack Hozey, Ethan Stone, and Willow Hainlen; siblings, Susan Deckard, James V. Hozey, Connie Porter, John Roberson, Jesse Hozey, Joseph Hozey, Jerry Hamilton, Vernon Hozey, Nora Dotterer, and Sammy Hozey, along with several nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by his parents; and former wife, Jane Hozey.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday September 14, 2018, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo.  Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-7 pm Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in William’s memory to the Kokomo Humane Society.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
