William Evans Obituary

William H. Evans, 85, Russiaville, formerly of Forest, passed away Friday June 7, 2019, at his home.  He was born October 19, 1933, in Clinton County, the son of the late Delmas & Berneice (Robertson) Evans.  On February 21, 1956, he married Carol R. Avery who preceded him in death on January 19, 2019.

William served with the United States Army, earning the rank of Sargent. William began his career at the age of 18 working for Yeoman Stone and Sand Company and later retired from Martin Marietta as the Assets Administrator.  William was a member of the Russiaville Historical Society, the Russiaville Park and Tree Board, and served on the Forest Volunteer Fire Department.  He enjoyed wood working, restoring antique tractors, and tractor/heavy equipment shows.

William is survived by his daughters, Kandas Caine, and Kimberly Evans; grandchildren, William (BrittLee) Bolton, Christopher Bolton, Bridget (Javier) Cordero, Sabrina Caine (Dickey Bolen), and Amanda (Joe) Gifford; great granddaughter, Mya Bolton; sister, Nancy (Gerry) Schoff; and several nieces and nephews. Bill was loved and will be missed by many.

William was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Max Evans; sister, Doris Johnson, and granddaughter Amber Caine.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 11:00 am Saturday June 15, 2019, at St. Paul Cemetery in Forest. Stout & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.stoutandson.com.
