Wayne Franklin Pflugmacher

Wayne Franklin Pflugmacher, 85, Kokomo, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019, at Golden Living Center-Sycamore Village in Kokomo.  He was born November 7, 1933, in Belleville, Illinois, the son of the late Gus & Eugenia (Wuebbles) Pflugmacher II.  On July 11, 1959, he married Meredith Ann Head and she survives. 

Wayne graduated from Cathedral High School in Bellville, Illinois in 1951.  He received a BS degree in Industrial Engineering from Dayton University in Ohio, and a Master’s degree in Business from Butler University in Indianapolis.  He retired from Delco Electronics after 28 years of service.  He also worked part time as a financial planner. 

Wayne had been active in Toastmasters International and the Lions Club.  He liked sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals, and anything Notre Dame.   Wayne was an avid fan of his grandsons, Curtis Hutchins, Nicholas and Nathan Franklin, all three were good in sports.  He enjoyed listening to his granddaughter, Lauren Franklin play the piano.

Along with his wife Meredith, Wayne is survived by his daughters, Shawn (Anthony Wayne) Franklin, and Angela Pflugmacher; grandchildren, Lauren Nicholas, and Nathan Franklin, Curtis Hutchins; great-grandchildren, Zander and Makenna Marner, and Grayson Franklin; and brother, Gus Pflugmacher III. 

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Jean Lanter-Kirn.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday, June 27, 2019 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3155 S. 200 W., Kokomo, with Rev. Fr. Matthew Arbuckle the celebrant.  Friends are invited to visit with the family at a celebration of life following the service at the church from 12-2 pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Wayne’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, act.alz.org, or mail to 50 E. 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.  Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
