Wayne Alan Brown

Wayne Alan Brown, 69, Kokomo, passed away at 3:52 pm Wednesday October 30, 2019.  He was born April 1, 1950, in Kokomo, the son of Kenneth Lee & Margaret Joan (Daly) Brown.  On September 20, 1975, in Goldsboro, North Carolina, he married Carole Elaine Edwards. 

Wayne was a 1968 graduate of Northwestern High School where he ran track and field and cross country.  He received his Associate’s degree in Computer Programming from Ivy Tech Community College.  Wayne served with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War as a Weapons Control System Technician attaining the rank of TSgt. He enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing trivia, computer games, and playing pool. 

Along with his wife Carole Brown, Wayne is survived by his mother, Margaret Daly Brown; daughter, Kelley J. Brown (fiancé, Nathaniel Wilson); grandson, Wade Joseph Wilson; siblings, Joan (Gary) Walls, and Mitch Brown (Deb Kennedy).

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Brown.

Funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo. Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team.  Burial in Albright Cemetery will be held at a later date.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3-5 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in Wayne’s memory to Bona Vista.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
