Walter Russell Anthony, 41, Kokomo, passed away at 12:35 pm Thursday, March 21, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born April 22, 1977, In Kokomo, the son of Norman & Patty (Clark) Yocom. On June 21, 2001, in Kokomo, he married Crystal Walker and she survives.
Russell was employed with Chrysler Corp for 5 years. He worked for Milbank, Hall-N-House, and detailed cars for Adams Auto Group. Russell loved customizing his vehicles. His current white S-10 has his and his brother-in-law’s cancer colors on it. Russell was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in May 2016 and has fought a hard battle, but never gave up. He was a very inspirational person to everyone, and he loved everyone. Not one person that knew him ever had a bad thing to say about him. Russell would help anyone who needed it if his health allowed it.
Along with his wife Crystal, Russell is survived by his mother, Patty Yocom; daughters, Camesha Anthony, and Breonna (Dustin) Robinson; grandchildren, Aubrielle Anthony, Bentley Lenoir, De’Andre Anthony, and Dustin Robinson Jr.; and sister, Autumn (Luke) Probst.
Russell was preceded in death by his father, Norman Yocom.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Kevin DeBard officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12-2 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Shirley & Stout Funeral Home to assist the family with final expenses.
