Sherry Brinson Obituary

Sherry Kay Brinson, 74, Kokomo, passed away at 3:00 pm Friday, March 8, 2019, at her home.  She was born January 27, 1945, in Logansport, the daughter of the late Walter & Helen (Brandt) Coleman.  On November 7, 1965, she married Robert O. Brinson and he survives.

Sherry was a 1963 graduate of Clinton Central High School and attended Indiana University.  She retired in 2003 from Delphi Electronics after 30 years of service.  Sherry also worked for Robbins Electric, Associate in South Bend, in public relations for Union Bank, legal secretary for Don Bolinger Law Firm, and Chapel Hill Church where she was a member. She was also a member of the Legal Secretary Associates Society, PEO, and a former member of West Point Christian Church.  Sherry enjoyed gardening, shopping, decorating, golfing, and reading.

Along with her husband Robert, Sherry is survived by her sons, Robert “Ted” (Deann) Brinson, Tucson, AZ, Anthony “Tony” O. (Amiee) Brinson, Goshen, and Jay E. (Tammy) Kessler, Castle Pines, CO; grandchildren, Hannah Brinson, Hunter Brinson, Harmon Brinson, Helayna Brinson, Tyler Brinson, A.J. Brinson, Olivia Brinson, Payton Crume, Karlee Crume, Scott (Shannon) Kessler, and Holly (Mike) Bogart; great-grandchildren, Emery Kessler, Drayton Kessler, Cassidy Bogart, and Avery Bogart; and sister, Patsy Sewell.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jimmie (Helen) Coleman, Max Coleman, and Ronald Coleman; grandchildren, Hayden, and Hope; sister-in-law, Pat Coleman; and brother-in-law, Jack Sewell.

Funeral services will be held at Noon Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Chapel Hill Christian Church, 2600 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Steve Allen officiating.  Burial will follow in Marion National Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3-7 pm Friday at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made in Sherry’s memory to Chapel Hill Christian Church.  Stout & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.stoutandson.com.
