Sharon J. (Merwin) Schaefer

Sharon J. Schaefer, 79, Kokomo, passed away at 12:45 am Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Waterford Place Health Campus in Kokomo.  She was born March 19, 1939, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Herbert Rose & May June (Juley) Merwin.  Sharon was a graduate of Wauwatosa High School in Wisconsin.  On September 25, 1965, she married Fred Schaefer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 

In 1986, after raising her family, she went to school and became a cosmetologist until she and Fred retired.  Sharon enjoyed her family, friends and many activities including playing tennis, aerobics, dancing, and volunteering at the Rescue Mission. She was a loving mother who was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind beautiful memories.

Sharon is surived by her husband Fred and her children, Susan (Chris) Wagner, Scott (Yvonne) Schaefer, and Amy (Greg) Davis; grandchildren, Samuel Wagner, Melody Wagner, Zacharie Schaefer, Alexandria Schaefer, Meagan (Tyler) Sanders, Mallory Davis, and Emily Davis; great-granddaughter, Lillie Sanders; siblings, Mary Ewart, and Juley Meredith; and nieces and nephews, Juley Ewart, and Jamie Ewart, Jason Meredith and Mandy Meredith. 

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Pat Merwin.

In keeping with Sharon's wishes, no services will be held at this time.  Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory were entrusted with arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made in Sharon’s memory to the Kokomo Rescue Mission.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
