Ruth Moore, 89, Kokomo, passed away at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at Waterford Place Health Campus. She was born July 22, 1930, in Clinton County, to Roy and Lillian (Morris) Clingenpeel. On September 6, 1953, she married Eugene “Gene” Moore, and he preceded her in death on December 5, 2003.
Ruth graduated from Ervin Township High School in 1948 and worked for Delco Electronics for over 25 years before retiring. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and quilting and was a member of Upper Deer Creek Church and UAW Local 292. She attended Onward Christian Church and was a former member of the Young America Home Economic Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Moore and her partner Judy Allstatt; brother, Bill (Diane) Clingenpeel; brother-in-law, Bill (Virginia) Moore; sister-in-law, Frances Nelson; special friends, Mary Kay Rennaker and Wilma Mason; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Tim Moore; brothers, Ben (Joan) Clingenpeel and Dave (Doris) Price; sisters, Betty (Earl) Ferguson and Frances (Cyril) Whiteman; and brother-in-law, Bill Nelson.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2019, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Pastor Rod Mason officiating. Burial will follow in Galveston Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
