Ruth Freeman Obituary

Ruth Inez (Patrick) Freeman
August 26, 1981 – April 10, 2019

On the afternoon of April 10, 2019, Ruth Inez Freeman, 37, of Greentown went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as a result of a very rare form of cancer.

Ruth was born to Rev. Dwain and Liesbet Patrick in 1981. She graduated from French Creek Valley Christian School, Saegertown, PA in 2000. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa while attending Ivy Tech in Kokomo. Ruth earned her CDA and worked with her mother at Sonbeam Child Care in Greentown, where she loved working with the children and watching them grow. She was a member of Greentown Main Street Association and was a very active member of First Baptist Church Greentown and loved serving her Lord.

In March 2014 she married the love of her life, James Andrew Freeman and was delighted to become step-mother to Faith and Philip Freeman.

Ruth was a wonderful woman of God. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ deeply. She blessed her family and friends with her love and gentle spirit. She was a terrific wife and mother, daughter and sister. She was patient, kind, loving, had a great sense of humor, was compassionate, beautiful, humble, graceful, merciful, and very willing to forgive. She had a winning, genuine smile and was so full of love and warmth. Ruth had many interests, including arts and crafts, and collecting dolls. She loved to cook and was very creative. Ruth was very intelligent and an avid lover of music, art, and movies. She especially enjoyed singing, most of all in worshipping our Lord. She loved to read and study God’s Word, along with many other books.

Ruth loved life, but she also knew that her eternal home was in heaven with God. Even in her sickness she was a faithful and great witness to numerous people around her. She was a bright light and an inspiration. Ruth was a person who knew how to be generous and caring. She will be missed more than words can express.

She is survived by her husband James Andrew Freeman; his children, Faith and Philip; her mother, Liesbet Patrick; sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Jeremy Ritchie; grandmother, Inez Patrick; in-laws, Jerriell and Mary Freeman; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Amber Freeman; and nephews, Jaden Freeman and Donovon Freeman and wife Whitney, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Ruth was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Dwain Patrick;  grandparents, Frank Patrick and Charles and Amy Jay; and Uncle, Edward Jay.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 18, 2019, at First Baptist Church, 325 E Payton, Greentown, with Pastor Zachary Houghton officiating.   Burial will follow in Greenalwn Cemetery, Greentown.
