Ruth Irene (Anderson) Federspill

Ruth Irene Federspill, 96, Kokomo, passed away at 10:55 am Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Northwoods Village in Kokomo.  She was born November 2, 1922, in Kokomo, the daughter of the late Joseph & Edna (Flick) Anderson.  On May 29, 1943, she married George Federspill who preceded her in death January 28, 1995. 

Ruth was a homemaker who loved bowling up until the age of 88, and walked every day until the age of 89.  Ruth was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the D of I, Kokomo Bowling Association, K.O.F.F. (Kids Over Fifty-Five), and Rosary Sodality.  She enjoyed doing word searches, and spending time with Franz & Sandy. 

Ruth is survived by her son, Franz and daughter-in-law Sandy, who she considered a daughter; grandchildren, Tom Melton, Michael Federspill, and Stacy Osswald; great-grandchildren, Tommy Melton, Jared Melton, Mia Federspill, Ava Federspill, Landon Osswald, Hudson Osswald, and Owen Federspill; along with several sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Charlotte Ruth Federspill; and brothers, Carl Anderson, John Anderson, George Anderson, and Glen Anderson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Thursday, September 12, 2019, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1229 N. Washington Street, with Rev. Fr. Brian Dudzinski the celebrant.  Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12-1 pm Thursday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s memory to St. Patrick Church, or the American Cancer Society.  Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
