Rodger A. Wisehart, 74, Kokomo, passed away at 6:59 pm Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at his home. He was born November 10, 1945, in Kokomo, the son of the late Mearl & Velma (Dailey) Wisehart. On July 3, 1982, he married Mary McKinney who survives.
Rodger graduated from Kokomo High School. He served with the United States Army in Vietnam. He retired in 2006 from Chrysler after 33 years of service. Rodger was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1152, and UAW Local #685. He enjoyed golf, bowling, and shooting pool. He loved his family, his wife, and his grandchildren.
Along with his wife Mary, Rodger is survived by his children, Beverly Redmon, Michelle Morrow (Forrest Small), Teresa (Jay) Lidy, Gwen (Josh) McQueen, Wayne (Kaylie) Verey, Tami Wisehart (Joe Cass), and Rodger Wisehart Jr.; 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Barb (Charlie) Wright, Marilyn (Jim) Darland, and Shirley (Terry) Zeider.
Rodger was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Melissa Wisehart, and Sharon Wisehart; 4 grandchildren; and 3 brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 25, 2020, at In His Image Church, 2940 E. 50 N., Kokomo, with Pastor Brad Swain officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11-1 pm Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rodger’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
