Robert Lee & Beth Jeannine (Stevenson) Hostetler, both 86, went to Heaven together on Thursday, April 28, 2016, as the result of an automobile accident. Robert was born on September 1, 1929, in Kokomo, the son of Fred L. & Eva A. (Townsend) Hostetler. Jeannine was born on February 27, 1930, in Kokomo, and was the daughter of William A. & Pauline (Fellows) Stevenson. Robert & Jeannine were married in Kokomo on June 24, 1949.
Bob had been a car salesman for Mason Motors and Kokomo Auto World. In between he owned Ray-Wel Motors. He had also worked for Kraft Foods. Jeannine had worked for Faith United Methodist Church, and previously for Ray-Wel Motors and Montgomery Wards. Jeannine would love to communicate with family by e-mail, watch IU Basketball, knit, read, and was part of the Missionary Society at the First Church of the Nazarene. Bob and Jeannine were both active members of the First Church of the Nazarene since 1954. Bob was active with the church choir. They both cherished the time spent with their children and grandchildren.
Bob and Jeannine are survived by their sons, Mark (Sharon) Hostetler, Portage, Ronald (Theresa) Hostetler, Hermitage, TN, Steven (Jane) Hostetler, Mishawaka, Jeffrey (LuAnn) Hostetler, Portage, Timothy (Lora) Hostetler, Kokomo, and Bruce (Rae) Hostetler, Zionsville; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Hamilton, Erica (John) Manly, Michelle Hostetler, Jonathon (Michaela) Hostetler, Michael Hostetler, Jeremy Hostetler, Ryan (Dana) Hostetler, Sean (Crystal) Hostetler, Bethany Hostetler, Cassidy Wagner, Becca Wagner, Thomas Hostetler, and Zachery Hostetler; great-grandchildren, Amber and Kaylin Hamilton, Savannah Manly, Ella and Andrew Hostetler. Bob is also survived by four nieces and four nephews. Jeannine is survived by a brother, David (Connie) Stevenson, Lafayette, and one niece and two nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Charles J. Hostetler, Naomi I. Stover, Anna Mae Fisher Goff, and Charlotte R. Kordel. Jeannine was preceded in death by her parents. Bob and Jeannine were preceded in death by an infant son, Michael L. Hostetler.
Funeral services celebrating Bob and Jeannine’s lives will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 2, 2016, at First Church of the Nazarene, 2734 South Washington Street, Kokomo, with Dr. Mark L. Hostetler and Dr. David Leeder officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3-8 pm on Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nazarene World Missions in care of First Church of the Nazarene. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
