Robert Allen “Bob” Lang, 91, Kokomo, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Primrose Retirement Community of Kokomo. He was born April 2, 1927 on East Richmond Street in Kokomo, to the late Marcellus and Elizabeth (Chambers) Lang. On November 17, 1957, he married Alice Jean Haverstick, who preceded him in death on November 29, 2012.
Robert was a 1945 graduate of Kokomo High School and a member of the 1945 Kokomo High School basketball team, known as the LSMFT squad that made it to the state finals. He served with the United States Army, earning the rank of Master Sargent, where he served in Europe during WWII. Robert retired from Hayne Stellite after a long career there in materials testing. After retirement he worked for Stout & Son Funeral Home and Conkle Pontiac. Robert was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as both a Deacon and Elder.
Robert is survived by his children, Bruce A. (Yolanda) Lang, Phoenix, AZ, Julie A. Lang, Maryville, TN, and Scott K. Lang, Alexandria, KY; grandchildren, Dawn Hannawi, Jessica Lang Camacho, and Brandon Lang, and 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Webb, Bloomington, along with several nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and sister, Ruth Taylor.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo. Friends are invited to visit with family from 4-6 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. In addition to flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
