Patricia "Joann" (Hull) Powell

Patricia “Joann” Powell, 87, of Kokomo, passed away at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 23, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born November 12, 1931, in Peru, to Ralph and Stella (Eldridge) Hull.  She married William D. Powell, Sr., and he preceded her in death on March 6, 2000.

Joann was a graduate of Peru High School and, after her marriage, relocated to Kokomo where she worked at several area factories before retiring from Delco.  She was an avid golfer and enjoyed several years of retirement in Florida.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Colleen) Powell, Kokomo; daughter, Patty (Ed) Ridenour, Frankfort; grandchildren, Jenny (Matt) Mazza, Meghan (Waylon) Henry, Greg Powell, Jesse Ridenour, Bryant (Crystal) Ridenour, Kellen (Abby) Powell and Sarah Powell; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, William D. Powell, Jr. and Ronald M. Powell.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Shirley Howell for her loving care and to Guardian Angel Hospice during her final days.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Rev. Fr. Brian Dudzinski officiating.  Private burial will take place in Kokomo Memorial Park.  Friends and family may call from 12 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in Joann’s memory to St. Patrick Catholic Church.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
