Norma Lee Brubaker, 86, Kokomo, passed away at 7:25 am Friday May 3, 2019, at Waterford Place Health Campus in Kokomo. She was born September 5, 1932, in Norfolk, Nebraska, the daughter of the late Jack & Olga (Herre) Pickard. On April 10, 1954, in Fremont, Nebraska, she married Myron D. Brubaker and he survives.
Norma graduated from Fremont High School and attended Colorado Women's College, Denver, Colorado. A consummate mother and homemaker, Norma was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. Norma was also an avid reader. Norma was a member of Faith Church of Christ in Burlington
Along with her husband Myron, Norma is survived by her children, Doug (Judy) Brubaker, Elysburg, Pennsylvania; Dr. Brian Scott (Cindy) Brubaker, Joplin, Missouri, and Julie (Jeff) LaDow, Kokomo; grandchildren, Jessica Brubaker, Kendall (Katie) Brubaker, April (Eddie) Penner, Lenny Brubaker, Darrian (Taylor) Franzen, Jillian LaDow, and Evan LaDow, along with 3 great-grandchildren, and one due in June.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jason; and brother, Robert Pickard.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, May 10, 2019, at Faith Church of Christ, 1701 S. Michigan Street, Burlington, with Dr. Brian Scott Brubaker and Dave Falkenberg officiating. Burial will follow in South Union Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-7 pm Thursday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, Neptune Chapel, 44 Michigan Street, Burlington. Memorial contributions may be made in Norma’s memory to the American Cancer Society. Stout & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
