Michael Holly Lucas

Michael Holly Lucas, 77, Greentown, passed away at 3:42 pm Saturday, November 10, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo.  He was born August 26, 1941, in Kokomo, the son of Hollis T. & Bettie B. (Briney) Lucas.  On January 23, 1998, in Las Vegas, NV, he married Carla L. Lucas who preceded him in death on February 19, 2017.

Mike was a graduate of Kokomo High School.  He served with the United States Army from 1958-1961 earning the rank of SP4.  Mike also graduated from Aviation Training Enterprises in Chicago, IL, Leminger School of Real Estate Law, Indianapolis, IN, and Cessna Aircraft Sales Academy in Wichita, KS.  He worked as a Commercial Pilot, Kokomo Firefighter, Real-estate Broker, and was owner and operator of Sly Fox, Foxes Den, and Foxes Trail restaurants. 

Mike was a life member of VFW Post 1152, the American Legion Post 6 in Kokomo, and Post 418 in Walton.  He was also a member of the 82nd Airborne Association, Kokomo’s Forty & Eight Voiture Locale #1103, Murat Shrine in Indianapolis, Scottish Rite-Valley of Indianapolis, Howard Lodge #93 F &AM, IBN Saud Grotto, Elks Lodge BPOE 190 in Kokomo, and the Antelope Club in Indianapolis.

Mike is survived by his children, Roxanna (Kevin) Murray, Michael (Donna) Lucas, Linda Lucas, Angie Gust, and Christopher (Kathy) Robertson; grandchildren, Christopher (Jena) Ward, Madison Murray, Jacob Murray, Michael Lucas, Jonathon Lucas, and Andrew Lucas; great-grandson, Kanon Ward; and siblings, Peter Lucas, Debbie Lucas, and Scott Lucas, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife.  

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Paul Sutherland officiating, beginning with Masonic Rites and ending with military honors provided by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1:30 -3 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
