Michael Edward "Mike" Ewing

Michael Edward “Mike” Ewing, 68, Kokomo, passed away at 10:59 am Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at his home.  He was born February 8, 1951, in Kokomo, the son of the late William G. & Florence J. (Coburn) Ewing.  On June 17, 1972, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, he married Mary Kathleen “Kathy” Cade, who preceded him in death on April 19, 2019. 

Mike was a graduate of Kokomo High School.  He worked for Cuneo Press for 8 years, Carnation for 5 years, and as a private contractor for 6 years.  Mike enjoyed golfing, woodworking, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Mike is survived by his children, Matt (Jennifer) Ewing, Amanda (Stephan) Glenn, Melanie Axum (Jay Homme), and Kara (Markece) Simon; grandchildren, Travelle Stigger, Tanae Stigger, Desiree Glenn, Devin Johnson, Stephan Glenn Jr., Dezren Glenn, Alicia Axum, Ian Axum, Lexis Homme, Isiah Homme, Caden Ewing, Cameron Ewing, Caleb Ewing-Graves, Christian Drewery Jr., Caitlyn Drewery, and Camiah Drewery; sisters, Theresa Ewing, and Patricia “Pat” Ewing; brother-in-law, Ralph (Shelia) Cade Jr., along with his great grandchildren and  several nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathy; grandson, Zachary Ewing; seven siblings, Marianna Ewing, Charles Ewing, John Ewing, William Ewing, Paul Ewing, Margaret VanWinkle, Mark Ewing; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, November 30, 2019, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo.  Burial will follow in Galveston Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-7 pm Friday at the funeral home.
