Michael L. Branch

Michael L. Branch, 68, Kokomo, passed away at 9:11 pm Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.  He was born January 15, 1951, in Kokomo, the son of the late Ronald R. & Ella Ruth (Serr) Branch.  On February 24, 1973, he married Teresa Karabin who preceded him in death August 28, 2013. 

Michael graduated from Western High School in 1969 and attended Purdue Technology.  He retired after a total of 40 years as an electrical engineer working for Chrysler for 10 years, Tau Laboratories/DuPont for 17 years, Delphi Electronics for 8 years, and Enerdel for 5 years. Michael enjoyed wood working, fishing, camping, gardening, and the outdoors.  He loved all types of music, and worked with many popular musicians over the years.  Michael looked forward to spending time with his family and his grandchildren whom he cherished.  He loved exploring his genealogy, reading history, working on computers, and building electronics.

Michael is survived by his children, Jessica Branch, Indianapolis, Jennifer Branch, Kokomo, Amanda (Duncan) Spicer, Kokomo, and John (Christina) Harris, Tennessee; grandchildren, Parker Vance, Gage Williams, Celina Poore, Robbie, David, Matthew, and Becca Harris; and siblings, Martin Branch, and Beth (Dennis) Hawes.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and grandson, Matthew Gill.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday October 13, 2019, at First Friends Meeting, 1801 Zartman Road, Kokomo.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2-3 pm Sunday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions for the grandchildren’s college fund may be made in care of Jennifer Branch.  Shirley & Stout Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
