Meta "Casey" (Kesweder) Nick

Meta “Casey” Nick, 95, Kokomo, passed away at 3:00 pm Monday November 26, 2018, at The Wellington of Kokomo.  She was born September 13, 1923, in Sheboygan, WI, the daughter of the late Frederick & Meta (Leicht) Kesweder. 

Meta was a 1941 graduate of Central High School in Sheboygan, WI.  She served with the Women’s Army Corp (WAC) from 1943-1946 earning the rank of Sgt.  Meta retired from General Motors with over 30 years of service.  She was a member of South Side Christian Church.  Meta loved to travel, celebrate Christmas, her cats, getting together with her group of retirees called the Breakfast Club, but most of all she cherished her time spent with her family. 

Meta is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Max) Robertson, and Kay Benick; grandchildren, Tracy Mize, Kerry (Shawn) Childers, Rich Sorrell, and Corey (Jennifer) Benick; great-grandchildren, Jordan Bass, Alexis Walker, Kadin Walker, Jared Jackson, and Jenna Jackson; and great-great-grandchildren, Berkleigh Bass, and Ryker Bass.

Meta was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Kris Nick.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm Monday, December 3, 2018, at South Side Christian Church, 201 E. Markland Ave., Kokomo, with Rev. Dr.  Peggy Hickman officiating.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2-4 Monday at the church.  Private inurnment will be held in Marion National Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to South Side Christian Church.  Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory assisted the family with cremation.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
