Max Eugene Hall, 80, Kokomo, passed away at 9:15 pm, Thursday September 6, 2018, at his home. He was born March 19, 1938, in Kokomo. He was the son of the late C. Wade & Alberta L. (Mills) Hall. On July 21, 1979, he married Phyllis J. (Baker) Gaskins and she survives.
Max started work as a paper boy for the Kokomo Tribune. He went on to become the produce manager for Hanks Thrifty Mart, and Scott Ladd Foods. After retirement he worked for B & Z, Thrifty Muffler, and American Muffler. Max enjoyed fishing, playing Ping Pong, auto racing, making stained glass art, car shows, and building doll houses for his granddaughters.
Along with his wife Phyllis J., Max is also survived by his children, David T. (Jody) Hall, and Melynda Hall; step-children, Steve J. (Leeanne) Gaskins, and Greg J. Gaskins; grandchildren, Jenn (David) Cummings, Summer Oaks, Nikki ( Johnny) Chadwell, Jessica Hall, David W. Hall, Cody Campbell, Kelvin Campbell, Dustin Gaskins, Stevie N. Gaskins, Cole Gaskins, and Jade Gaskins; great-grandchildren, Emma Ramos, Lyla Hall, Addalynn Chadwell, Kayelynn Oaks, Kade Oaks, Kynto Gaskins, and Aizen Gaskins; siblings, Carolyn DeWitt, Ronald Hall, and Pamela Snider, along with several nieces and nephews; and mother of his children, Shirley A. Harrison.
Max was preceded in death by his parents; and step-son, Kevin Gaskins.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Jimmy Justice officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
