Mary Lou (Hudson) Julius

Mary Lou (Hudson) Julius, 88, Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Greentown, passed away 12:27 a.m. Thursday, August 29 at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers.  She was born February 8, 1931 in Shirley, Indiana to Hobart and Ruth (Johnson) Hudson.

She graduated from Greentown High School in 1949 and went on to graduate with an Associates degree in education from Indiana University - Kokomo.  On May 8, 1949 she married William “Bill” H. Julius in Kokomo, Indiana and he preceded her in death on August 12, 2016.

Mary Lou had worked for several years for her brother, Donald Hudson at Hudson’s grocery before becoming a librarian at the Greentown Public Library retiring after several years.  She was a member of Meridian Street Christian Church.  She was a member of the Greentown Public Library board, Liberty Gals Home Economics club, former Brownie and Cub Scouts leader, Past President of Palmetto Palms library board and former 4-H leader.  Mary Lou enjoyed reading, crocheting painting and swedish weaving.  She loved playing bingo.

Survivors include: children, Ron Julius, Greentown, and Nancy (Rick) Rybak, North Fort Myers, Florida; three grandchildren, Michael (Hannah) Julius, Tami (Jason) Shepard and Tasha Rybak, great -grandchildren; Kaden Rybak, Zach Shepard, Lexi Shepard and Eli Julius-Pierce and Loulynn Julius-Pierce.  Brothers in law, Phillip (Lois) Julius and Art (Joyce) Hammond and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Julius; daughters-in-law, Conni Julius, and Patricia Julius; brothers, Donald Hudson, Landon Hudson, and Robert Hudson; sisters, Wynema Crites, and Helen Greene; brothers-in-law, Robert Julius, and David Julius: and sister-in-law, Beverly Myers.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St., Greentown, with Pastor David Turner officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown.  Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
