Marvin G. Kemp Sr, 86, Kokomo, formerly of Greentown, passed away at 8:25 a.m. Thursday November 7, 2019, at Waterford Place, Kokomo. He was born September 27, 1933, in Vallonia, Indiana, to Herman and Carrie (Hattabaugh) Kemp.
Marvin served in the United States Navy. He married Janet Sue (Hunsinger) Kemp on April 3, 1954 and she survives. He retired from Chrysler as a tool & die maker. He was a member of American Legion Post # 317 and Local UAW #685. He enjoyed his Chrysler retiree’s dinners and his art. Marvin enjoyed music, singing watching his children and grandchildren in their sports and watching cowboy movies.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Marvin (Gayle) Kemp Jr, Jeff Kemp, Pete (Kim) Kemp and Shelly Whitehead; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; brother, Bill Kemp and sister, Phyllis Edington.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Don Kemp; and sister, Janette Bryant.
There will be a private family gathering at Hasler & Stout Funeral 112 E. Main Street, Greentown with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown with military rites by the American Legion Post #317.
