Margaret Ann "Peggy" Sanders Obituary

Margaret Ann “Peggy” Sanders, 77, Russiaville, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family and friends.  She was born December 5, 1941, in Bluffton, to Thomas T. and Vivian E. (Wheatley) McGeath.  On April 5, 1958, she married the love of her life and soulmate, Ronald L. Sanders.  They were married for 54 years before his death on November 12, 2011.

Peggy was a 1959 graduate of Montpelier High School where she was a member of the high school band and choir.  She worked for nine years at Marsh Supermarket as assistant deli manager, and at one time, manager of the cheese shop.  Her last job as deli manager was at Wallman’s Grocery.  She and Ron loved watching sports and attending the many games of their children and grandchildren.  Her favorite NFL team was the Indianapolis Colts, especially Peyton Manning.  For eight years, Peggy and Ron spent their winters in Harlingen, Texas, taking many trips to Mexico to shop.  She enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting and cooking.  Peggy always put her family first and truly loved all the times they could be together, especially family dinners and the holidays.  She was well known to be one of the best cooks in Howard County.  Peggy had a love of dogs and cats and will be missed by her faithful Yorkshire, Chico.  She was a member of New Hope Church in Kokomo.

She is survived by five children, Beth Ann (Steve) Kaiser, Rhonda Kay (Randy) Eads, Linda Lee (Jeff) Scimia, Tyler (Shellie) Sanders and Patrick (Kiersten) Sanders; fourteen grandchildren, Lindsay (J.R.) Marshall, Brittany Bush, Evan (Carlie) Eads, Erin (Ross) Love, Clayton (Melissa) Eads, Carly Eads, Emma Eads, Sam Scimia, Tyler (Meagan) Sanders, Tanner (Corjinae) Sanders, Tait Sanders, Tessa Sanders, Wyatt Sanders and Patton Sanders; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister, Kathy Lee Welch; and caregiver and friend, Marsha Yeary.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Hilma McGeath; and older sister, Betty Jean McGeath.
